Stephen Casey – 1SAP Project Manager, BHP Billiton
very effective workshops and detailed and executive summary reports
Heiner has lead from end to end the planning, execution, review and report preparation of two major project Lessons Learned activities for the 1SAP Program at BHPB.
The first review was of the Global HR and Payroll 1SAP Implementation that simplified and standardised core HR processes and all BHPB payrolls into 1 common system, being SAP. The lessons learned review process involved a core group of 50 key project staff, 15 business executives and multiple deployment teams from around the globe. Heiner planned the entire activity as a project within itself, establishing an introductory questionnaire, a detailed interview approach, an effective data capture template for all forms of feedback, and facilitated multiple workshops in Singapore and around the world at the business sites. The workshops were typically intense, with highly qualified experts, high emotions and stress levels after a very intense project phase of 18 months, and regional / business parochial behaviour that all had to be synthesised down to the most valuable lessons for the entire Corporation. The end result was a series of very effective workshops and detailed and executive summary reports published within the Company.
The second review was of a very specialist release of 1SAP that covered specific marketing, sales and risk reporting for all of our saleable commodities. Once again, Heiner was very effective in planning the work, engaging with business stakeholders at all levels, facilitating the workshop to get a balanced outcome from a group of high technical specialists, and then publishing the required reports that have been distributed widely across the executives in our Company. All the feedback has been very positive on the end to end lessons learned process, planning and execution and I intend to use Heiner again for the remaining projects within our Program of Work.
