Who I coach:
I am an executive coach and business mentor. I coach and mentor business people and small to medium sized businesses. I also groom professionals in enhancing your emotional intelligence skills and your transition from being a specialist and perhaps a manager into taking leadership.
My ideal clients are:

Small to Medium Size Enterprise (SME) owners, executives and managers
Professionals looking to tranisition into management or leadership, and wanting to enhance your “soft skills”
Where I coach:
One on one; face to face in Melbourne, Australia for personal coaching, mentoring or grooming
One on many; face to face in Melbourne, Australia for business mentoring
One on one with a mixture of face to face and Internet technology if elsewhere in Australia
One on one with Internet technology if elsewhere, anywhere in the world
One on many with Internet based Webinar technology anywhere in the world.
How I coach
I will always have an initial free exploratory conversation (of about an hour) with a prospective client. That serves to allow you to assess whether I’m the right coach for you and for me to assess how well I’m going to be able to help you find the outcomes you seek.
This conversation will give input into the pre-coaching or mentoring questionnaire I will draw up for you to reflect on in preparation to our coaching, mentoring or grooming journey.
Your responses to that questionnaire will frame the overall agenda for our coaching, mentoring or grooming program.
We will mutually sign a coaching agreement in which we agree the outcomes, the “commercials”, confidentiality, that you agree to “fetch” the results you expect, as well as to confirm that our work isn’t to be construed as counselling or therapy.
Coaching, mentoring or grooming programs are usually made up of 6-10 sessions lasting 90 minutes each.
My programs are paid in full ahead of commencement, thereby further ensuring that you “fetch” the outcomes you seek. I have a “money back guarantee” which will be invoked, if it becomes evident to us both that we are not going to meet expectations. I have only had to use it once in over 12 years.
We will confirm the agenda ahead of each session and agree on the homework, timing and venue /media of the next session at the end of each session.
Where we leverage my book and relevant blog articles from my website, you’ll be expected to study relevant agreed material ahead of each session.
I expect my clients to bullet point their key takeout points from each session, and I write a summary in quite some detail (usually 3-4 pages) of each session as an artifact to reflect back on.
If your company is funding your coaching, mentoring or grooming program, and your boss wishes to inject input into the agenda, I will happily meet with you both first, but insist on meeting with you on your own before or after that meeting, so we can both be sure that your are going to personally “fetch” the anticipated value from the program.
How I business mentor
For prospective business mentoring, I will also always have an initial free exploratory conversation with the business owner(s) and sometimes the management team.
This can run for more than an hour in order to be sure we get to the bottom of the envisaged expectations.
This is most often followed by a workshop to explore and identify the immediate and longer term agenda for the business mentoring assignment.
One outcome will be a business mentoring agreement including the “commercials” and the commitments to the expected outcomes we agreed to pursue.
Such agreements will usually go for a year, but not less than 6 months and will define the duration and frequency of monthly meetings.
Business mentoring is done face to face in Melbourne or in other Australian cities, usually in the clients premises.
Each meeting is followed up with a detailed outcome report also capturing the necessary “project management” commitments each party has undertaken in preparation for the next meeting.
The mentoring fee is payable monthly, and in order to assure the necessary “fetch” of the expected outcomes, in advance.
What can you expect from a coaching program?
You can expect our work together to be agenda and outcome driven. It is not a”talk-fest”.
You can expect my absolute confidentiality, both that we are in a coaching, mentoring or grooming relationship as well as regarding any content. If required, my company happily signs NDA’s.
I will not broach any content or progress with your boss, partner or anyone else.
You can expect to be challenged in your ideas, your approach and your language.
You will find me a very useful “sounding board” that will help you generate many more perspectives than anyone could on their own. We can very effectively “road test” your ideas or initiatives.
I have absolutely no other agenda than your own. There is nothing we can’t talk about in complete confidence. Unusual thought, isn’t it – given that (almost) everyone else usually has an agenda?
You can expect to be stretched way outside of your comfort zone, but you will always be in control.
You can expect me to hold you accountable to the commitments you make to yourself, so that you cannot “chicken out”.
You can expect to achieve the results that we agree to aim for at the start of our work together.
